Triple-Negative Breast Cancer Financial Assistance: How to Give, and Where to Find Help

If you or someone in your life has been diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer, or TNBC, you may find yourself face-to-face with several financial challenges. Even though you might be feeling overwhelmed, the good news is that you don’t need to feel discouraged. This is because there are a number of organizations that offer financial assistance to those with cancer, and many of them provide specific assistance for those with triple-negative breast cancer.

In this article, we will provide information on financial assistance that supports patients with triple-negative breast cancer, and how you can do your part to help

We are extremely proud to share that we have formed a partnership and matching campaign with Breastcancer.org, the world’s leading online resource for breast cancer and breast health! This is your opportunity to double your impact: when you donate to Breastcancer.org through Philanthropi, we’ll match* your donation

Breast Cancer Financial Assistance Funds

There are several national organizations that offer financial assistance for patients diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer. However, eligible patients also have the opportunity to apply for federal support through the following Social Security Administration programs:

  • Social Security Disability Insurance, or the SSDI program
  • Supplemental Income Security, or the SSI program

The Social Security Administration considers breast cancer to be a disability, but there are requirements that a patient must meet in order to qualify. One of the key evaluation requirements is evidence that the breast cancer is in a more advanced or severe stage.

The SSI program provides financial assistance to qualifying individuals who have access to “limited income and resources.” So in addition to receiving assistance via the SSDI program, patients with a TNBC diagnosis may also be eligible for financial assistance through the SSI program.

If you or someone you know has been diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer, financial assistance is available. Take the time to carefully review financial assistance requirements carefully so you know which program to apply for. You might be eligible for both!

Emergency Financial Assistance for Breast Cancer Patients

Even though many organizations offer breast cancer patients the opportunity to apply for financial assistance, it’s important to note that the application process will generally take some time to complete.

Fortunately, the Social Security Administration offers the Compassionate Allowances program. The program helps deliver financial assistance to patients with severe illnesses and disabilities much more rapidly than usual. This means that eligible patients diagnosed with advanced breast cancer are identified by the program, experience an expedited application process, and receive disability benefits quickly.

Triple-Negative Breast Cancer Foundation

The Triple-Negative Breast Cancer Foundation is an organization dedicated to providing reliable information, assistance, and a supportive community centered around triple-negative breast cancer

One of the services that this organization offers is the TNBC Helpline. The Helpline provides patients with access to a plethora of support avenues, including counseling, support groups, and workshops.

Metastatic Breast Cancer Financial Assistance

Organizations that offer financial assistance for breast cancer patients typically include those with a metastatic diagnosis. Since this diagnosis indicates that the cancer has spread beyond the point of origin, you are much more likely to qualify for federal support.

Additionally, there are also organizations that offer financial assistance opportunities to those specifically diagnosed with a type of metastatic breast cancer

How to Give

This is the simple– and the best! –part.

One of the reasons that these organizations are able to help breast cancer patients is because of the help of people just like you and me. With the internet at our fingertips, it’s easy to make a donation to a charitable organziation of your choice. If you’re facing financial challenges due to breast cancer, please don’t hesitate to contact your doctor for guidance. We also encourage you to apply for federal support.

And if you’re feeling inspired to chip in, every donation helps! We’re so thrilled about our partnership with Breastcancer.org, and we want you to be a part of the excitement. That’s why when you sign up for a Philanthropi Impact Account and donate to Breastcancer.org, we’ll match* your donation.
